Utilize Profile Codes Sometimes when you meet a friend in person, you want to exchange social media information quickly and efficiently. Messenger Codes helps you to quickly connect with a friend over the app, using a unique marker for each user. Just pull out your Messenger camera and press and hold over a friend's Messenger Code to connect instantly. You can show your Messenger code for your friends to scan by tapping on your profile photo and then tapping on the largely sized icon at the top surrounded by blue lines and circles. Two options will be presented when you do that: “My Code” and “Scan Code.” The “My Code” feature is selected by default for your friends to scan. And the “Scan Code” feature lets you scan the Messenger Codes of your friends.

Create “Day” Stories In March 2017, Messenger added the ability to share your Day. This feature is similar to Instagram Stories and Facebook Stories. Messenger Day allows you to share photos and videos of some noteworthy events that took place throughout your day. The photos and videos will appear in Messenger for 24 hours and you can see who viewed it. You can also add selfie filters, text and other fun effects to the Day stories. To set up a Day Story, tap on the “My Day” button under the “Messages” section of the Home tab. Or you can start adding to your Day by tapping on the photo icon at the bottom of the Home screen.
